How to use HelpHub

HelpHub is a community-run place for small local tasks. You can post a task if you need help, or become a helper and lend a hand. There are no platform fees — people agree payment directly.

No platform fees Message first Reviews after completion

Before you start

  • Create an account so you can message and receive offers.
  • Verify your email (it helps keep the community safer).
  • Add a profile photo if you can — it builds trust quickly.
  • Use clear location: your town/area is enough (no need to post your full address).

Tip: If you’re not sure how to describe the task, post a question first in Get advice.

What works best here

  • Great for: DIY, flat-pack assembly, moving help, cleaning, gardening, small repairs.
  • Not ideal for: emergencies, large building projects, or anything that needs formal contracting.
  • Payments: arranged directly between people (HelpHub does not handle money).

If anything feels unsafe or suspicious, don’t continue — you can report the listing or user.

If you need help

Posting a task is just describing what you need and waiting for offers.

  1. Post a task with a clear title and simple description.
  2. Add photos if possible (photos help helpers price fairly).
  3. Set your area (town + county) and your budget (or say “open to offers”).
  4. Read offers and message if you have questions.
  5. Choose a helper when you’re happy with the plan.
  6. After it’s done, mark complete and leave a review.
Good task titles:
“Assemble IKEA wardrobe (2 hours)” · “Leaking kitchen tap” · “Help moving sofa + table”

If you want to help

Helping is browsing local tasks and sending a clear offer.

  1. Browse tasks near you (filter by category and area).
  2. Open a task and read the details + photos.
  3. Send an offer with your price, timing, and a short message.
  4. Agree details in messages (scope, time, price).
  5. Do the task and ask the poster to mark complete.
  6. Get reviewed and build your reputation.
A good offer includes: price, when you can do it, and what’s included.
